At Binge Island, we believe in setting clear expectations regarding the types of websites we create and the services we provide. This policy defines how we outline, manage, and adjust the scope of work for our website design and development services.
1. Defining the Scope of Work
Before starting a project, we provide a detailed Scope of Work (SOW) document outlining:
- Project deliverables – What we will create or update.
- Timelines – Estimated timeframes for completion.
- Client responsibilities – Materials, approvals, and feedback required from the client.
- Number of revisions included – Any additional revisions beyond this may incur extra charges.
The agreed-upon scope ensures that both parties are aligned before work begins.
Types of Websites We Create
At Binge Island, we specialise in creating websites for businesses and professionals looking for clean, modern, and user-friendly designs. The types of websites we typically create include:
- Business Websites – For small to medium businesses requiring a professional online presence.
- E-commerce Websites – For businesses looking to sell products or services online.
- Portfolio Websites – For individuals or businesses in creative industries to showcase their work.
- Landing Pages – For promotional purposes, such as product launches, events, or lead generation.
- Informational Websites – For organisations needing a platform to share resources, blogs, or educational content.
- Membership Websites – For businesses or organisations that require user registration and access to exclusive content or services.
Types of Websites We Do Not Create
While we are highly skilled in designing and developing a range of websites, there are some types we do not take on due to the complexity or technical requirements. These include:
- Custom Web Applications – Websites requiring heavy custom coding for complex functions (e.g., CRM systems, social networking platforms).
- Gaming Websites – Websites focused on the development or hosting of interactive online games.
- Adult or Explicit Content Websites – We do not design or support websites for adult entertainment or explicit content.
- Illegal or Unethical Websites – Any websites that promote illegal, unethical, or harmful activities.
2. Changes to the Scope
Once the project has begun, any requests outside the original scope will be considered scope changes and may impact project timelines and costs. Changes include, but are not limited to:
- Adding new features or pages.
- Modifying previously approved designs or functionality.
- Requesting extra revisions beyond what was agreed.
All scope changes will require a written request and may be subject to additional fees.
3. Client Responsibilities
To keep the project on track, clients are responsible for:
- Providing all required materials (text, images, branding assets, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Reviewing and approving work within agreed deadlines.
- Clearly communicating any concerns or required adjustments during the revision process.
Delays in providing materials or approvals may result in adjustments to the project timeline.
4. Completion & Handover
A project is considered complete when:
- The agreed-upon deliverables in the Scope of Work have been met.
- The final version has been approved by the client.
Once completed, any further changes or updates will be treated as new work and billed accordingly.
5. Disputes & Clarifications
If there is any uncertainty about whether a request falls within the agreed scope, we will refer to the original Scope of Work document. If needed, we will provide a revised quote for additional work.
6. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to update this policy as needed. Continued use of our services after updates indicates acceptance of the latest terms.
