Introduction

At Binge Island, we take intellectual property (IP) rights seriously. This policy outlines ownership, usage rights, and responsibilities for all assets created or provided during a website project.

Ownership of Website Assets

Final Website Design & Development Transferred to the client upon full payment The completed website, including its structure, code, and design, becomes the client’s property after final payment is received.
Custom Graphics & Branding Elements Transferred to the client upon full payment Custom-designed assets (e.g., logos, banners) are owned by the client unless otherwise agreed.
Third-Party Assets (Stock Images, Fonts, Plugins, Themes, etc.) Subject to third-party licensing terms The client is responsible for adhering to the licensing terms of any third-party resources used.
Website Content Provided by the Client Owned by the client Clients retain full rights to any text, images, or files they provide.
Code & Functionality Developed by Binge Island Client owns completed implementation Binge Island retains the right to reuse code snippets and development methodologies for future projects.
Work-in-Progress Designs & Unused Concepts Retained by Binge Island Any initial design drafts or unused concepts remain the property of Binge Island.

Use of Third-Party Licences

If a project includes premium themes, plugins, or other third-party software, ownership of these elements remains with their respective creators. Binge Island may use developer licences during the project, but clients must purchase their own licences for continued use and support after project completion.

Copyright & Attribution

  • Binge Island reserves the right to showcase completed projects in its portfolio and marketing materials unless a written confidentiality agreement is in place.
  • The client may request to have the “Designed by Binge Island” attribution removed from the website for an additional fee.
  • If a client provides copyrighted materials (text, images, videos, etc.), they are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use them.

Reuse of Work & Knowledge

While the final website belongs to the client, Binge Island retains the right to:

  • Use general development techniques, design elements, and code structures for other projects.
  • Reuse components that are not specific to the client’s business or brand.

Binge Island will not resell, duplicate, or repurpose fully custom designs or content created exclusively for a client.

Intellectual Property Disputes

If any intellectual property disputes arise, clients should contact us via our contact form for resolution.

Policy Updates

Binge Island reserves the right to update this Intellectual Property Policy as needed. Any changes will be reflected in our Help Centre.
